赖主任是密苏里大学英语硕士和明尼苏达大学第二语言教学硕士,持有明州K-12中文教师资格证。赖主任从事教育工作将近30年,在英华工作16年,之前曾经担任三年级和七、八年级的班主任以及七、八年级课程编写小组的组长。

Fernando Rubio currently serves as the Director of the Center for Language Study (CLS) at Yale University. He previously held the position of Director of the Second Language Teaching and Research Center at the University of Utah. Over the past two decades, he has been actively involved in various professional organizations, including The Modern Language Association, The College Board, and ACTFL. HE also served as president of the National Federation of Modern Language Teachers Associations.
Professor Rubio’s research interests lie in the fields of Applied Linguistics and Teaching Methodologies, with a focus on technology-enhanced language learning and teaching. He is the author of two textbooks, Tercer Milenio, Kendall-Hunt (2009), and Juntos, Cengage (2018). Additionally, he has co-edited the volume Hybrid Language Teaching and Learning: Exploring Theoretical, Pedagogical and Curricular Issues, Heinle (2012), and co-authored Creating Effective Blended Language Learning Courses: A Research-Based Guide from Planning to Evaluation, Cambridge UP (2020), which was honored with the 2019-2020 MLA Mildenberger Prize.
Professor Rubio has contributed numerous articles and book chapters on subjects related to second language acquisition, assessment, and technology-enhanced language teaching. He has also held roles as the Principal Investigator on two Language Flagship Grants and a Title VI National Language Resource Center grant. Presently, he serves as the Principal Investigator on several large grants from the US Department of Education and Department of Defense.

Jiajie Wu was born in Xi'An and grew up in Chengdu, China. She loves the ancient architecture in Xi'an and the casual living style of Chengdu. Ms. Wu came to the U.S. to study from 2010-2012 and received a M.A. in Teaching at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT. Before joining the state Chinese DLI team three years ago as a coordinator, she was a Chinese DLI elementary teacher for 8 years. She is honored and proud to see all the DLI students grow and glow in the immersion program. She has great interest in curriculum development, coaching/feedback, and instructional support for DLI teachers.

Laura Terrill is a national consultant who currently serves as the Senior Associate for Professional Development for the National Foreign Language Center (NFLC) at the University of Maryland.

Laura holds a BA in French from the University of Missouri — St. Louis and a MA in Secondary Administration from Northeast Missouri State University. She taught French at all levels for 21 years before becoming the Coordinator of Foreign Language and English as a Second Language and then, Director of Curriculum. She has taught methods courses in St. Louis and in Indianapolis and continues to present at the local, state, regional and national levels. She has served on the Board of Directors for Central States and ACTFL. She is the recipient of the Founders Award for Central States, has been named as the NADSFL District Supervisor of the Year and has received the ACTFL Florence Steiner Award for Leadership. Dr. Poole also has an interdisciplinary educational background. He earned his doctorate in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences as well as a master’s degree in Second Language Teaching from Utah State University, and he double-majored in Spanish and Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His dissertation and other recent research focus on the role of games in language learning, digital literacy, and collaborative reading, and he was honored as Student Researcher of the Year in his M.A. program and his PhD. program. Prior to grad school, he taught English as a Foreign Language for many years in China, Spain, and Chile, including a four-year stint as Director of Studies at a language school in China. In addition to teaching online courses in Games and Learning at Utah State, he has also taught several courses in Chinese as a foreign language and explored pedagogical innovations including writing a graded-reader series for L2 Chinese, using WeChat for language exchanges, using board games to enhance Chinese language learning, and even creating a 2D role-playing game for Chinese learners. He has published in peer-reviewed journals including Foreign Language Annals, Language Learning & Technology, and the Journal of the Chinese Language Teachers Association as well as publishing and presenting in venues for educational technology. Janet Kang Liu is an elementary school teacher in Brooklyn, New York. She has been working with young learners for 11 years in various grades and subjects. Janet earned her Master's Degree in New York University and acquired several professional teaching certificates, including Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language. She has been cooperating with Principal Hong and other colleagues to design a Mandarin curriculum that suits students' needs and learning habits. Her lessons were often described as fun and engaging. Shihong Zhang, a Ed.D. candidate, the founder of the GRHS Chinese program, the founding President of the New Jersey Chinese Teachers Association (NJCTA). She was named NJ Governor's Educator of the Year for 2021-2022 at Glen Ridge High School and received the Excellence Award in 2023 from the Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she was recognized as the Educator of the Year by NJCTA and received the BLCUP Award for K-12 Professional Development from CLTA in 2023. Her Chinese program was also distinguished as a top K-12 Chinese Program in the United States by CLTA in 2023. Shihong serves as an AP Chinese Reader, a rater for the Seal of Biliteracy Assessment of Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP) Test, and an interviewer for the International Chinese Teacher Qualification Certification. In her presentation titled "Human-AI Hybrid Teaching Approach to Improve Chinese Writing Skills" Shihong Zhang will discuss strategies for enhancing students' writing skills in Chinese, whether for AP, IB, AAPPL, or STAMP exams. She will share classroom tested effective scaffolding processes and ChatGPT prompts to improve students’ writing abilities over time.

2019 North Carolina Foreign Language Teacher of the Year, certified Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) examiner by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Currently responsible for the high school Chinese curriculum and study abroad programs at Durham Academy, a private school in North Carolina, and also serves as a consultant for the Diversity, Equity, and Engagement curriculum. Wang Laoshi is a board member of several teacher organizations, including the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT), the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina (FLANC), the Chinese Language Teachers Association of the United States (CLTA-US), and the American Society for Chinese Education (ASSCE). In recent years, Wang Laoshi has particularly focused on integrating Chinese language education and social justice issues into high school curricula in the United States.
